Effects of Age on the Skin
Photo-ageing, results from exposure to UV rays which break down collagen and elastin fibers in the underlying dermis layer, causing the skin to wrinkle and sag. Fine lines begin to appear around the eyes and mouth and the skin’s texture roughens, skin begins to lose elasticity as fat cells and moisture stores decline. Other signs begin to appear: spider veins, abnormal pigmentation, age spots and enlarged pores.
What is Skin Rejuvenation?
Skin Rejuvenation is a procedure that mildly injures the skin in order to initiate the natural wound healing process., Light is absorbed by cellular water to cause a mild thermal insult leading to fibroblast activation and creation of new collagen and elastin fiber cells within connective tissues of the dermis, leading to improvement in skin texture and smoothing of fine lines.

What results should I expect?
Post treatment the client experiences a mild sunburn-like sensation disappearing after ½ - 3 hrs. Instant cosmetic changes, the skin will appear radiant, refreshed and will show improved tone and texture making the skin appear more youthful and healthy looking.
From a more clinical perspective, over a period of a couple of months wrinkles are smoothed as new collagen growth in the shrunken dermal layer develops. This has been shown to hold up over several years if patients practices stringent sun protection.
How often will I need treatments?
Typically skin rejuvenation is achieved following a course of 5-6 treatments 3 weeks apart. Further maintenance treatments may be required 1- 2 times a year.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a mild treatment that rejuvenates and refreshes the skin. Immediate visible results of youthful brilliance, and eliminatin of dull stressed looking skin after one treatment. A program of 6 treatments every 2nd week is recommended for ultimate results.
Skin Needling
Skin needling is a non invasive anti aging technology. Needling is used to stimulate the production of collagen, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, pigmentation, sun damage, and scaring.
As the medical grade stainless steel needles penetrate they effectively create a microscopic trauma with in the skin matrix. The skin reacts and tiny signals are released which create a wound healing response.
This procedure uses a roller with microscopic needles between 0.15 to 2.00 size. It is derived from ancient acupuncture techniques. As the needles are rolled over the skin tiny punctures are created within the epidermis and dermis that encourage the skin’s own natural healing.

What is IPL and how does it work?

IPL uses a filtered broad band light source that is produced in a flash lamp hand piece. The light is an intense pulse of white light comprising of many wavelengths emitted in all directions which is captured and reflected into the skin allowing the desired range of wavelength to pass.
